Changing Classrooms — One Story at a Time.

I’m S. R. Lorton, the author of Sid the Cryptid Kid.

This program began when I worked as a paraprofessional at Queets Clearwater School here in Washington State. I discovered that many of the same textbooks I used as a student years ago were still being used in classrooms — torn, outdated, and missing pages.

My mother and I bought supplies when we could, but it was never enough. That’s why I created Sid the Cryptid Kid — a book and educational initiative designed to bring new stories, learning materials, and creativity into underfunded Washington classrooms.

Every book sold or donated helps give real students a chance to explore imagination again — through storytelling, art, and fun, Northwest-themed adventures.

Together, we’re making sure no child’s curiosity is held back by the age of their books.
