Why This Matters
This project began after author S. R. Lorton worked as a paraprofessional at Queets Clearwater School, where he discovered many of the same worn-out textbooks he’d used decades earlier were still in daily use.
Even after becoming a teacher, he saw firsthand how thin budgets kept classrooms from updating books and materials.
He and his mother purchased supplies with their own money — but it was never enough.
That’s why the Sid the Cryptid Kid Program was created:
